Dr Hugh English
M.B.Ch.B., F.R.C.S., F.R.A.C.S. (Orth).

Hugh English is a Queensland trained Orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in management of hip and knee problems, and in hip replacement, knee replacement and hip resurfacing.

He was a medical student in Scotland , and is also a registered Specialist in the UK .

He has completed fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty with Mr Graham Gie and Mr. John Timperley in Exeter UK, and has had further training in hip resurfacing, and revision surgery.

Dr Hugh English was Acting Director of Orthopedics' at Royal Brisbane Hospital until December 2002.

Dr Hugh English is an honorary Senior lecturer with the University of Queensland, and also involved with research at the Queensland University of Technology.

Dr Hugh English has had several recent publications in the Orthopaedic literature, including revision hip replacement in infection, impaction grafting in revision hip replacement, and use of the subtrochanteric osteotomy in revision hip surgery. These are available in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Private practice is co-located at The Holy Spirit Northside Hospital, Chermside, and the Arnold Janssen Centre, Brisbane Private Hospital , 259 Wickham Terrace in Brisbane. He also consults at Clayfield, Albany Creek, and Redcliffe.

Public commitments are at the Prince Charles Hospital , Brisbane.
